Barbri provides much better essay materials. The book of essays and examples is great. Themis graded more essays, but I didn’t feel like I had as many outlines to review and learn. If you don’t feel like you are a good technical writer, Barbri’s materials are decent.

The answer is simple: you can fail it as many times as you want and you will still be able to continue taking the MPRE! As of now, there is no limit on how many times you can take the MPRE. So, you can take it once or you can take it ten times or more. Another note: Nobody will know if you fail unless you tell them!

Is Barbri enough?
Barbri, Themis, and Kaplan are full prep courses. AdaptiBar is a supplementary MBE prep course. I’d say Barbri is enough if you can stomach it enough to do at least 85% (preferably more) of the course.
Are bar prep questions harder than the bar?
Yes, their questions are generally “harder” in the sense that they are more convoluted than the ones on the real MBE. But, the authors of the Barbri questions also have a different writing style than the authors of the MBE.
