How do I reprogram Meccano?
Update your M.A.X. or Meccanoid to the latest version.
- Download the Robot Update software.
- Install the software on your computer.
- Locate the included USB cable.
- Connect USB cable to computer.
- Insert micro USB end into the port on the MeccaBrain™
- Open the software and follow the instructions.
What is a Meccanoid?
Meccano is a brand of model construction system created in 1898 by Frank Hornby in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The system consists of reusable metal strips, plates, angle girders, wheels, axles and gears, and plastic parts that are connected using nuts and bolts.
How do you use the Meccanoid app?
Spin Master
- Turn on Meccanoid.
- Open the app on your smart device and allow the program to scan for nearby Meccanoids.
- Once the app connects to your robot it will appear at the top of the screen.
- Select your robot.
- Accept the Bluetooth connection when the robot asks (yellow button on the Meccabrain).
Is Max a robot?

- Download the MeccaSpider™ Applet and launch.
- MeccaSpider™ will appear on your device.
