The Project Management Institute (PMI®) has published the new PMBOK Guide Seventh Edition, officially on August 1, 2021 (though for members it came a little earlier). Across six editions, the work had become larger and more elaborate – and therefore harder to read.
Where can I download PMBOK?
You need to login to the PMI website with your PMI user ID / password, to download the PMBOK Guide PDF. The PDF file is password protected and when you try to open it, it will prompt you for a password. In order to open the file, you will need to enter your PMI (www.pmi.org) password.

What changed PMBOK 7th edition?
The biggest change is the shift from “process-based project management” to “principle-based project delivery”. Instead of processes, inputs, outputs, tools, and techniques, project delivery focuses on principles and outcomes. Knowledge areas will not be existing in PMBOK anymore. There will be performance domains.

There’s a membership fee of $129 and a joining fee of $10. This brings your costs back up to $544, not so far from the original $555. However, PMI members can download the PMBOK handbook for free, whereas those without membership will have to pay upwards of $50 on Amazon.
What is the difference between PMBOK and PRINCE2?
