Yes, the spectacle is entertaining, and it definitely draws a crowd. Add to that, the strong human need to want to place things in order. But the notion of the curator as 'taste-maker' remains a bit of a snag.

Yet everywhere I look, in almost every club, it's fucking amateur hour, mixer driven into the red, turned up as loud as possible, monitors never turned down to actually check how the music is sounding out there on the mf dancefloor.

Another factor which I feel is vital to a clubs longevity is support of the locals. If the average Berlin party goers like your club, and are in regular attendance then you are on the right track.
