Label Bio:

Bullet:dodge Records was established to provide a forum for musicians, DJ's and producers, both established and new, to challenge the limits of contemporary electronic club music. It focuses on delivering consistently innovative house and techno that pushes boundaries and charters new musical territories whilst retaining a DJ friendly ethos that ensures the bullet:dodge label is synonymous with the club culture that inspired its creation.

Based in Glasgow, Scotland, the label was founded in 2008 by Gareth Whitehead, a vastly experienced and highly prolific producer, remixer, DJ and artist that required an outlet for his signature brand of deep, dubby, tech-house and minimal. Tantamount to this, Gareth understood that the new era of digital distribution and expanding online communities was creating a new wave of forward thinking, imaginative and highly skilled producers, and he was determined to provide a stage from upon which the very best new international talent could freely express itself.

With an impressive arsenal of deep, funky grooves and a willingness to explore dark, abstract  territories, bullet:dodge records has gone from strength to strength. The exponential growth of the labels reputation since its inception has been down to the staggering quality and consistency of releases that have ensured huge support from Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Ben Sims, Dubfire, Stephan Bodzin, Toni Rios, Dan Curtin, Tim Xavier, Christian Smith, Dave Tarrida, The Advent, Technasia, Thugfucker, Scratch Massive, Deep Dish and many many more.

2009 was a particularly strong year for Bulletdodge records. The year saw the label gain an increasing amount of respect from within the electronic music community for the determined manner in which they have maintained the continuity of releases whilst really pushing the envelope with regards to the experimental freedom given to the bullet:dodge artists.

During the first half of the year, the label was releasing at least two strong EP's a month from both up and coming producers and more established artists, making the label  ubiquitous on beatport minimal and techno charts. This culminated in the appearance of Jay Pace's fantastic 'Jengalord' on Dubfire's top ten summer anthems chart. An underground classic, the track featured on the awesome 'Oplink' EP, itself a beatport top 20 success.

With releases scheduled way into 2010, Bulletdodge records intend to build from a position of strength, maintaining the impeccable standards with which they are associated, whilst remaining dedicated to the creative needs of the talented group of artists they represent.

Label Focus:Bulletdodge Records featuring an hour of the label's music will air Thursday July 22th at 18:00, with repeats Friday at 12:00, and Saturday at 11:00.

Oliver Koletzki is a good friend of mine and I've collaborated with his label since the beginning. I also did his latest album-cover. Collecting records is my new passion, that's why I like designing record covers.
