Somewhere in a remote area of northern Michigan, after a fire in his bedroom studio, a young Josh Dahlberg started Blank Artists. In 2006, he and the label moved to Detroit where the imprint still exists with the help of dedicated friends and fans.  To this day, Blank’s core consortium remains scattered aimlessly throughout the city’s spontaneous and subterranean landscape, the real and the imagined. Amid these eccentrics are artists, musicians and ideologues a la mode, and maybe even a professional here or there, though there are few. As a result, the beloved small batch label has been privileged with acclaim for its diverse discography of uniquely crafted electronic music created by the hands of wide-ranging personalities and erratic deviants. Established to foster creative self-expression without boundaries, Blank Artists is committed to furthering independence in electronic music.
