For his Artist of the Week feature Venedikt Reyf picks 5 records which influenced his musical taste.
Stereofuse - Black Jack - Salo
I bought this record the first time when I went to berlin. I had no experience in that genre and it was luckly one of my first records I grabbed, because the cover was looking quite interesting. It`s a timeless record and I`m impressed that it hasn`t lost it`s effect on the dancefloor for over 3 years now.
Massive Attack - Protection - Circa Records
This was one of my first albums I bought on vinyl when I came in contact with electronic music. Of course there are some cheesy tracks on it as well, but this record also has the ability to be heard for a long long time without losing it`s magic.
Whirlpool Productions - From Disco to Disco - Motor
I used to watch a lot of MTV when I was a small boy. My mother always tried to keep me away from the tv but i was a smart guy ;-) My sister and I fell in love with that track when we saw/heard the clip/track the first time. I think i was about 8 years old.
Nick Holder - Habitat lounge - DHN Records
This record was a special gift from a nice woman I met one year ago. I prefere the "Dutty Dub" track on the b side. Sounds like house music, played by a dub/reggae band... Love it.
Peace Orchestra - Peace Orchestra - G-Stone
Great downtempo album that really really really cought me after the first minute of listening. I love when music takes you to other dimensions, and this album really "beams" you to somewhere out of space.
